Christmas Advent 2012 Day 14

December 15, 2012 The events that occurred in Connecticut have affected each of us. This is a tragedy of the worst kind. Taking the life of the children and those who were trying to protect them seems to be such a tragedy. We are a people who want to do for others who are hurting. The one thing we can do is pray to the giver of Peace. The Heavenly Father who gathered the children in His arms and blessed them. As tragic as these events have been, I am reminded that Herod, after the wise men did not return to him, ordered the killing of the children three years and younger. Matthew 2:16-18 is the account of this. As we conclude the Advent week of Peace, let us pray for these families and others that they might experience the comfort and strength that can be had from the Prince of Peace. It's something to think about and do.
